Dritan Hyska’s artistic work is rooted in a deep exploration of architecture as a reflection of human com- plexity. He delves into the interaction between man, society, and nature, blending photography, painting, video, and installation. Often focusing on the urban landscapes of Albania and Italy, Hyska portrays bridges, overpasses, deserted cities, and raw construction materials like cement, capturing the harsh realities of these environments.
His method begins with a careful, personal selection of subjects, evolving from concrete imagery to a sim- plification of forms. This reduction serves as a gateway to a deeper aesthetic experience, where tonalities and forms are repeated not to reinforce the familiar but to create a dialogue between artist and canvas. This repetitive process becomes meditative, a ritual that both captures and suspends time, offering a hypnotic exploration of subtle changes. Each repetition invites a silent contemplation of eternity, evoking a timeless- ness that seeks to slow down the relentless passage of time.
